Lionsgate released a new horror/thriller movie titled, “Saw 3D” into theaters a couple months ago. I just got done checking it out,and it showed some intense gory, thriller scenes. I’m really not into the gore genre,so I found it quite disturbing. It also delivered one hell of an ending. It stars: Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, and Sean Patrick Flanery.

The Saw 3D film delivered two different storylines. One of the storylines centered around character Bobby (Flanery). He was a spokesperson promoting a book that claimed he survived one of Jigsaw’s games, but he really never underwent one of Jigsaw’s games. This lie causes him and his co-workers to become part of one of Jigsaw’s horrible,life-taking games.

The other storyline revolved around Jigsaw’s wife Jill. She was trying to escape Hoffman, and revealed to the police that he was behind all the games since Jigsaw’s death. She ended up getting one of Hoffman’s old Chief of Police mates Cale involved in the case. However, it led them all to their deaths.

The film featured really gory scenes right from the start, which included a woman getting spinning blades through her stomach,a different woman getting blades through both her eyes and throat at the same time, another lady getting four blades through her neck, and a guy getting all his skinned scraped off his back just before he died.

This chapter was definitely one of the more graphic installments for the franchise, and it really leaned toward killing off more women than men. It ended with an unfortunate conclusion for one of the main female characters. That kind of disappointed me a bit,but right after that,it closed out with a very interesting conclusion, which kind of suggested they could continue this franchise even though this was supposed to be the final movie for it.

Though I’m not a huge fan of gore movies, I thought the film was very entertaining. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and capped off with a very interesting conclusion. I gave the move a B grade.
