Secretary Has Love In On Farmhouse Table
Some things never change, it is a bit like summer following spring. Boys grow up into men, and girls grow up into women. The cycle of life and death is constant. Men and women work long hours to support their offspring, and most people copy the lives of parents and people who lived before. Very often they worked in the same place as their family has done for generations.
Peter Scrungeworthy owned a factory that made pine furniture, specializing in pine wardrobes. His parents owned it before him and his grandparents before them. The people that worked in the factory, had worked there since leaving school, and in a lot of cases their parents and grand parents had worked there as well. the furniture that was made today, was much the same as it was 100 years ago. The finishes and stains were new and up to date.
Peter was different from the previous owners of the factory,he was a miser. He was a born miser, he would keep his store room for the daily requirements in a room next to his office. He would spend a lot of his time standing in the shadows of the factory listening to his workers,he was so used to the sounds that he could tell if they were going fast or slow,he could tell if production was up or down,he could tell if he was making money.
The foreman was a man called Steve Edwards who Peter regularly spoke to about speeding up production. Steve was not a fan of these ‘talks’ and often drove the men far harder then need be to get Peter off his case. The carpenters and other workers was given bonuses for meeting high targets which though hard to get were obtainable through very hard work. During the day Peter would take the all the takings through to his private office and count the money that had been made.
After counting the money he would always fall asleep. This day he woke quickly when he realized he had left his money behind, in his office. He had never ran so fast as he did then. When he reached the office,he was greeted by strange sounds from inside, they were the sounds,of lovers, and he could not open the door. It was clearly the sound of Polly and Steve the foreman, they had moved a farmhouse table against the door. Peter banged and shouted, and finally charged the door,at that moment Polly opened the door, the miser could not stop he was through the office and straight out the window, diving into the duck pond below.Angry he was but on his way through the office he had manage to grab his wallet
