Everybody feels sad from time to time and if you find yourself feeling the blues and you want to have a friend nearby, you can always call on them. On the other hand, what happens if your friend calls you and is feeling all blue. what do you do? Here are ways on how you can get them back smiling again.

Listen to them. People with the blues are often just feeling the need to be heard. So, listen intently to what they say and do nothing else. Your friend will surely appreciate you for being the shoulder she can cry on.

Offer an advice to your friend. An advice can be taken to heart or can be discarded. Leave that choice to your friend. If you have gone through such experience, you can offer him such advice but if you have no idea about that, might as well be there with your friend every step of the way.

Now that you are able to listen to their problem, give proper advice, and have given a token of gratitude. Try to take their mind off from that memory by keeping her busy but be mindful about how she would feel.

Stay strong for your friend. Not only will your friend be rooting for your strength to help him pull off from his depression, he will also look at you as his anchor. The moment you breakdown, he too will break down.

Give your friend a massive hug. There is nothing a hug cannot do to make your feel better. There is something about that warm embrace that makes you feel that everything is good in the world. It makes you feel safe even if it is just for a second.

Spend more time with your friend who wants to be happy. Do things together like wash the dishes, clean the room, or go out and have fun. The more you spend time together the stronger your bond as friends and the more you begin to realize that everything is good after all.

Sometimes, it is much better that you avoid such drama in your life but by doing so, you are also alienating your friend and will make her wonder if you were really her true friend. But, if you are there when she needs you, your friendship will be much stronger.
