The Best Canadian Comedian
Over the years Canada has had its fair share of funny guys but who would be the funniest Canadian comedian of all time? There are so many to choose from that it isn’t easy to select one as the funniest of all time. The best that one can do is to put forward the nominees and people make up their own mind.
In recent times Seth Rogen has come into his very own. The largest break he ever got in his career was meeting up with Judd Apatow. In turn, he has featured in plenty of Apatow’s TV shows and flicks. Most significantly Freaks and Geeks, The 40 years old Virgin, Knocked Up and Funny Folks.
He has now prepared for larger and better things.
On Saturday Night Live and The Simpons he was a staple and since his horrible death, there has been a void in the comedic world. The person is question is Phil Hartman. Hartman was a very funny person and one who was so versatile. Even though he passed away in 1998, he hasn’t stopped being missed.
Martin Short was one of the explorers of Canadian comedy. He quickly established himself in the USA and from there just went onto more success. In flicks like Innerspace and the 3 Amigos he used to be a Hollywood star and he then lifted the show in bride’s father. Short was a trailblazer and a giant in the world of comedy.
No discussion on Canadian comedy is possible without talking about Jim Carrey. He made his name on In Living Color and then hit the massive superstar heights with Ace Venture: Pet Detective. This was one of the biggest films of 1994 and Carrey carried the whole movie. From there came Dumb & Dumber and The Mask. Since then Carrery has starred in a number of movies and continues to be a massive box-office drawcard.
Dan Aykroyd was a leader of Canadian comedy. One of the first members on Sat. Night Live he’s answerable for some of the largest characters on the program and none is larger than the Blues Bros which he was in alongside John Belushi. Following his exit from Sat. Night Live he was in Trading Places and Ghostbusters and Aykroyd was one of the most important names in the early 1980s.
One of the biggest name of the late 1980s and early 1990s was Mike Myers. He was responsible for giving Saturday Night Live one of its best ever periods. Wayne’s World was a massive movie and he followed that up with a sequel and the Austin Powers franchise. Myers isn’t a prolific as he was then but he is just as funny.
Then you have got the late John Candy. Candy was one of the most flexible actors of the 1980s appearing in films like Splash, Holiday and Planes, Trains and autos. He died in 1994 and that was doleful for everybody. He would possibly not be the funniest comedian but he was one of the most loved.
Noah Harper is a Canadian actor who has studies film and drama. He works as a comedian in Toronto. Noah can be found spending his free time on an online casino site, he claims that it’s a fun way to earn money.
