‘The Dilemma’ Movie Delivered Lots Of Drama With Great Comedy
“The Dilemma” comedy movie recently got released into theaters. I just checked it out,and it really delivered more powerful,intense drama than I thought it would. I knew the movie would deliver some comedy,but these people really new how to get emotional. It stars: Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Jennifer Connelly, Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum,and Queen Latifah.
The movie revolved around characters Nick Brannen (Kevin James) and Ronny Valentine (Vince Vaughn). They have been best friends since their college years,and are now embarking on a major,car,business,venture deal,which is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The two friends land the successful deal to deliver a prototype for a new electrical engine. Unfortunately,tensions mount as Nick doesn’t quite have all the stuff he needs yet. Nick is married to Geneva ,while Ronny is dating Beth. The pressure get even worse after Ronny catches Geneva cheating on Nick with another guy named Zip played by Channing Tatum.
Channing impressed me with how well he played the crazy Zip character. Ronny eventually calls Geneva out about her cheating incident. However,he finds out things aren’t so black and white,and Geneva threatens to to deny anything Ronny tries to tell Nick,while also threatening to tell a secret that Ronny doesn’t want Nick to know.
At this point, Ronny is caught in a crazy dilemma,which causes him to start sneaking around, trying to get snap shots of Geneva cheating on Nick. Ronny also starts acting unusual around Beth and friends,leading them to think he might be gambling again. All of these things combined, ends up leading to a huge misunderstanding that has everyone called into a group family meeting,including crazy Zip.
Naturally, this family meeting leads to a big drama fest,leaving lots of people with hurt feelings and causes Zip to end up with a busted nose. After all this has gone down, Nick and Ronny still manage to pull it together for their important business presentation by making up in a funny, unusual way.
I thought the movie played out great. It had a ton of things going on with it,so it never got dull. It featured a huge fight scene between Ronny and Zip that was extremely Hysterical. Zip’s tough exterior gets broken down when he starts balling like a baby.
I think actress Winona Ryder did a superb job playing the ruthless,cheating wife,and I really liked Jennifer Connelly as Ronny’s girlfriend Beth. She’s a knockout in the looks department. Queen Latifah also brought the laughs as the high-energy Susan Warner character.
