Columbia released their new drama film called “The Social Network” into movie theaters a while back. I agree with the professional movie critic’s perfect positive assessment of this film. It showed good,drama-filled,informative scenes about the real life story of Facebook’s beginnings. The film stars: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, Joe Mazzello, and Rashida Jones.

The flick centered around the amazing true life story of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, along with numerous people he worked with in the beginning days at Harvard University. It follows how Mark built a popular website before Facebook that generated 22,000 hits in 2 hours. It was a fun site that let people rate which lady was the best looking out of two choices.

Mark ran into a few problems with his site because he hacked all the pictures from Harvard’s database, and got put on academic probation for the action. It was an interesting story to learn. Eventually, Mark was approached by a few college students who were very impressed with his work on the popular site, and they wanted his help to launch an idea they had about a social networking site that only Harvard students would have access to. Mark liked the idea and agreed to give them his help. The plan was to call it “The Harvard Connection.”

Fortunately, for Mark, he had a much larger vision for the social network plan, and decided to build his own version of the original idea. Within a week, “The Facebook” was born. Mark teamed up with his best friend and co-founder Eduardo. Eduardo supplied the cash for the Facebook, while Mark did all the high, technical coding that makes all the cool Facebook features work.

After Facebook progressed a little more, they had meetings with Napster’s Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake). He helped them expand Facebook into a business, and also convinced Mark to get rid of the “The” and just make it “Facebook.” After that, conflicts arose because Eduardo was pushed into the background, and eventually out of the entire company.

The twin Harvard students who approached Mark with the “Harvard Connection” idea, filed a lawsuit against him, saying that he stole their idea. Eduardo also filed a lawsuit against Mark. The film featured that aspect in extensive detail, and it featured some very interesting drama. I really thought movie was great. It was very intriguing to learn how much drama went down during the early stages of Facebook.

Justin Timberlake did a great job as Sean Parker in my opinion. I thought Jesse Eisenberg played Mark Zuckerberg’s role good as well. I also liked the performance from the new Spider-Man franchise actor Andrew Garcia as character Eduardo Saverin. It was the first time I saw Andrew act in a movie. The film got a perfect A grade from me.
