Check Out These Eighties Box Office Hits If You Have Never Seen Them
A lot of people make derisory comments about the 1980′s and knock the fashions, hairstyles etc But you can’t deny it was a decade that produced some great movies.
For those in their mid twenties and younger, a lot of these movies are probably just names they hear they’re parents mention. When in fact they really should have seen them as they are modern classics.
Although over 20 years old now, these films still bring as much joy to the audiences today as they did the first time around and are still firm favorites.
Let’s cut to the chase, these are 5 movies which I have loved since I first saw them. Give them a try yourself to see what I’m talking about.
A little movie which gained a huge cult following is set in Chicago, stars Elisabeth Shue among others, and is called adventures in Babysitting. This is a great romp and is still very funny.
There have been some great sports comedies made over the years, but Major League is one of the funniest ever in my opinion. It was so successful that 2 sequels were made.
Even if you haven’t seen the Breakfast Club, chances are that you will have heard of it. It is one of the best known movies of the 1980′s and its story is still relevant today. If you only see one of these 5 movies, make it this one.
A massive hit that every kid related to at the time was Ferris Bueller’s day off. This is the tale of the kid who skipped school to take his buddy and girlfriend on a trip to Chicago. Every kid wanted to be Ferris Bueller and have the guts to do that for a day. If you have somehow missed out on seeing this, make the effort to see this cinematic treat.
If action is your thing, I only have two words to say to you, Die Hard. Yes, it’s hard to believe that the original was made so many years ago. It still stands proudly amongst other more recent films and wins hands down for sheer entertainment value. You must have been living on Mars if you haven’t seen this, and if you have just returned from the Red Planet, watch it today!
