Youtube is the new MTV
One of the coolest things about youtube is that you can watch any music video especially since MTV is basically dead. And humorous music is very popular.
The great thing about this is that music videos are easy to make. You can make your own music videos in a variety of ways or you can use other peoples music to and edit in your own video. Or you can make a parody of any popular song.
If you have no talent in front of a camera microphone or camera here are a couple of things you can do. 1. Lip sync. 2. Use dramatic images to go with the audio. I am going to list some songs here that are popular but could use some help.
Kill a Kitten by Stephen Lynch. Hilarious but sick. Be careful.
Older Hard rock definitely needs some new visual so how about a little AC DC like Dirty Deeds.
Aqua made a great song called Barbie Girl. I would Love to see a new video for this.
The Lonely Island song about J**z pants is already hilarious. But a knock off done right would get some good views.
The song We Swear We’re Not Gay could be acted out and funny as heck.
Imagine how much fun you could have with I’m An Asshole by Dennis Larry.
Ok obviously that is a short list but I kinda want to keep it short before I get carried away and call all my friends asking for ideas until we have created a 6 thousand word article. Basically there are lot of songs out there and I’m sure that you could think of many more. The secret is to do something unexpected and make sure that the song your doing is funny. Also it would probably be good to do it with someone else. Make sure to be as dramatic as you possibly can it helps.
Capturing video or audio from your computer and editing it in software like Imovie is really easy. And Imovie comes free on any Mac. You can also you camtasia and Jing for a PC. You will want to make your cuts pretty fast and short. Play with it and see what you like.
